FAQ
Can I call to order or reserve food?
We’re a walk-in bakery and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. To keep things fair and manageable for our small team, we don’t take phone orders or reserve items in advance. The best way to secure your favourites is to pop in and purchase them directly.
As a small team, our barista's are often handling both front-of-house and calls during busy shifts, so we may not always be able to answer the phone.
We’ve put a lot of care into creating this FAQ and streamlining our online ordering process, so we kindly ask that you take a moment to review it and follow the guidelines we’ve set. It really helps us keep things running smoothly. Thank you for understanding and supporting our small bakery!
Do you take bookings at the bakery?
We do not take bookings, rather operate on a first come, first served basis as many people come from far to try our food.
We are primarily a takeaway and catering-focused bakery, with our efforts centred on our on-site kitchen to maintain the freshness and quality of everything we make.
Our space is intentionally small and intimate, designed to encourage meaningful connection and to gently move away from a traditional café or screen-based lounging environment. Seating is limited to two small tables (seating up to 3 each) and two stools at the counter.
If the weather’s kind, we highly recommend taking your treats for a short 5-minute stroll to Kensington Palace Gardens or Hyde Park - a perfect setting for enjoying our bakes in nature.
Do you do delivery?
Yes, we offer delivery for larger orders. Our minimum order for delivery is £200, with a £35 delivery fee. Deliveries are available on Thursdays and Saturdays between 12–4 pm, and are currently limited to London Zone 1.
As a small team without dedicated transport, we personally coordinate each delivery, which impacts our delivery costs. We hope to expand and streamline this service in the future, but for now, we kindly ask that customers plan within the set days and times.
Alternatively, you can also find us on Deliveroo for smaller orders. Please note that prices are higher on the platform to account for service fees and commission.
We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support!
How early in advance should I order?
Minimum required time in advance:
Regular orders via the webshop: 3 days (cut-off time is 2:00pm)
Wedding cakes up to 3 tiers: 1 month
Custom catering orders for events or corporate: 2-3 months
Do you take any last minute orders?
As a micro, independent bakery, we handcraft everything in small batches with a focus on freshness and reducing waste. For this reason, we do not keep whole cakes or tarts on hand for last-minute orders.
On occasions, you can visit us at opening time and you may be able to buy one of the cakes prepared for the day.
If you're enquiring about a next-day order, you're welcome to call the bakery to check with the kitchen, though please note that during busy periods (such as holidays or summer), we’re often unable to accommodate short-notice requests.
When we are able to fulfil a last-minute order, it will be limited to the flavours and 8-inch sizes we serve in-store. We’re unable to provide smaller or larger sizes outside of that.
Do you take custom orders?
Custom orders are available only for large events and catering, with a minimum of 80 servings. Orders must be placed at least one month in advance, and a deposit is required to confirm.
To enquire, please fill out this form, and a team member will respond within 48 hours.
Kindly note: Everything we offer is listed in our webshop for seamless ordering. If an item is not available online, we do not offer it, and enquiries about off-menu items will not be responded to.
Do you do custom cakes?
We offer custom cakes exclusively for weddings and large celebrations, with a minimum of 80 servings.
We do not copy cake designs and only decorate intuitively to our style using natural ingredients included in flavours; fruits, (edible) flowers and herbs. We do not use food colouring, fondants, or decorative items made from sugar and unknown ingredients.
Our smallest cake size is a 6" and can be ordered through the webshop. We kindly ask that smaller custom requests not be emailed, as they won’t be responded to.
For wedding cakes and tiered celebration cakes (3-tier or larger), please visit the wedding cake tab in our webshop or fill out this inquiry form. A team member will be in touch within 48 hours. All custom orders require at least one month’s notice.
Can I change a flavour/layer/cream in cakes?
Our cakes are available exactly as listed online, and we’re unable to accommodate changes or substitutions to flavours or fillings.
Each recipe has been carefully developed, tested, and costed to ensure the best balance of flavour, texture, and sustainability for our small kitchen. We do not offer custom swaps, as even small changes can affect the final result and our ability to prepare orders efficiently.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to try the cakes as intended - we’re confident you’ll enjoy them just as they are!
Can I substitute sugar in cakes?
Our cakes are made with minimal amounts of organic, unrefined demerara sugar, which we’ve chosen for its neutral taste, light colour, and ability to create the best texture using less sugar overall. For example, our Shortcake varieties - sweetened with maple syrup - often taste sweeter.
We also created our cakes for celebrations and not every day meals as the rest of our pastry. Regardless of the sweetener used, our recipes are always low in sugar, using only what’s necessary for structure and texture - as sugar plays a technical role beyond sweetness. All of our buttercreams require unrefined demerara to remain stable; without it, they’re prone to melting.
To give you an idea of quantity: our standard 3-layer, 8-inch cake (serving 16–18 people) contains no more than ¾ cup of sugar in total.
We do not offer sugar substitutions for cakes unless it’s part of a large catering order, in which case alternative sweeteners may be available at an additional cost.
What sugar do you use?
We use a small selection of natural, unrefined sweeteners, including Egyptian Medjool dates, organic maple syrup, organic coconut sugar, organic agave, and organic unrefined demerara - used minimally and intentionally, to highlight the natural flavour of the produce already present in our bakes.
While our founder believes that not all calories are created equal - she accounts sugar varieties as one and the same. Insisting they should be minimal in our diet regardless of source. For example, while different types of unrefined sweeteners can retain minor micronutrient content - it is a matter of quantity, bio-individuality, personal activity levels and mental/emotional states when consuming. We should be focused on whole foods to get our nutrition, and not desserts. Likewise, common sugar alcohols used in Keto baked goods that don't necessarily affect blood sugar as much can cause digestive distress and encourage sugar addiction thus, even when used in our products it is with care and minimally.
At the heart of our baking is a deep respect for nature - we let fruits, root vegetables, and natural ingredients take the lead, with just enough sweetness to enhance, not overpower.
Is everything low sugar?
We are passionate about keeping every baked good nutrient dense thus, keeping sugar low - regardless of sweetener used - is a cornerstone of our ethos.
For anyone that is struggling with blood sugar and/or insulin issues, we recommend sticking to our savouries, keto loaves and tarts.
Can't find a specific item we had?
While we do have a few staple menu items that remain throughout the year, the majority is seasonal and changes on a quarterly basis.
We are keen to follow nature. Thus, if you have a favourite you miss, please note if it's not online we are not offering it at the moment - but you will be seeing it again in future!
Creating new recipes is what keeps our Founder creatively engaged and gives our chefs new opportunities for learning. We’ve been fortunate to receive wonderful feedback on every item we've created, and we're committed to introducing new favourites along the way.
We encourage you to stay curious and explore new flavours - we're confident you’ll discover several you’ll love!
What if I have a food allergy or preference?
We cannot remove or substitute ingredients from our baked goods.
We've done our best to have something for everyone being completely gluten, dairy and refined sugar free with plenty of vegan options, as well as, paleo and keto. Our menu is ever-expanding seasonally!
If you have specific allergens, kindly check our ingredient list online to see what is safe for you to eat and/or ask our Barista’s/Servers.
Do you have anything that is nut-free?
As a dairy-free and largely vegan bakery, magarine is not an option to use due to health ramifications. Thus, we have traces of almonds in the majority of our products as our vegan butter is based on it alongside organic coconut and shea butter. We aim to reduce seed oils as much as possible and sticking to coldpressed extra virgin olive oil and minimal coldpressed extra virgin rapeseed oil for certain recipes.
Currently, the entirely nut-free options are:
1. Salted Tahini Brownies
2. Keto Toasted Coconut & Berries Loaf
3. Victoria Sponge Cake, Fig Compote, White Chocolate Ganache, Rose Jam & Fresh Figs
You can also get the Chocolate and Chiffon Cake varieties nut-free with a few alterations (noted under the item).
If any savouries are required nut-free, we can only do so for large catering orders.
As we note on our disclaimer: We cannot guarantee against cross contamination of or between nuts. Baked goods can be made without any nuts but could contain traces as nuts are used in the kitchen.
Do you offer private and corporate catering?

We serve many happy, grateful celiacs.
All our food is completely gluten free (as well as dairy and refined sugar free). We guarantee no cross contamination on site as our food is made in our Kensington kitchen, which is a dedicated space. We do not have any gluten on site. We do our due diligence to source the purest of ingredients that avoid cross contamination.
Our founder has also been eating free-from for almost two decades due to intolerances and approaches allergens with the utmost seriousness.
Are you vegan?
No. We are allergen-friendly, albeit 80% of our menu is vegan.
Any label with a “V” in store stands for vegan.
Is your food Halal?
Yes! We use chicken that is free-range and halal. Our Angus beef and lamb are grass fed and halal as well.
Rarely, we use halal beef gelatine in desserts (just one item).
What flours do you use?
Our supplier is Shipton Mill. All the flours used are organic and whole-grain gluten-free. We create all our flour blends from scratch using whole grains: brown rice, millet, sorghum, and buckwheat.
